About kairanban (回覧板)
A kairanban is a physical folder or clipboard of notices that circulates from house to house within a Japanese neighborhood association (自治会/町内会), each household reading it and passing it to the next. It is still a common way to share local announcements in Japan today.
Why the output stays in Japanese
This tool's buttons and field labels are available in both Japanese and English, but the notice text it generates is always written in Japanese. The opening greeting (拝啓 … の候), the itemized 「記」 ("details") section, and the closing 「以上」 ("the above") marker are conventions specific to Japanese business and community correspondence; translating them would not produce a document anyone in Japan would actually use. The English page exists to explain the tool and the kairanban custom, not to produce an English-language circular.
Style by notice type
Based on real examples of neighborhood-association notices, this tool uses two registers. Cleanup day, general meeting, and summer festival use the formal style with a seasonal opening greeting and a 敬具 ("sincerely") closing before the itemized section. Garbage rule change and safety alert skip the formal greeting and get straight to the point, matching how these more urgent, practical notices are actually written.
Fields you leave blank
Any field left empty is simply omitted from the itemized 「記」 list in the finished notice; the remaining items are renumbered from 1 so there are no gaps.
Common fields
The issue date, association name, and issuer name are shared across all notice types and appear in the signature block at the end of the notice.
Printing
The "Print" button opens your browser's print dialog with only the finished notice visible, so it prints cleanly on a single page. No PDF file is generated; this relies on your browser's built-in printing.

Can I leave some fields blank?
Yes. Blank fields are automatically removed from the itemized list in the finished notice, and the remaining items are renumbered. We still recommend filling in the title and issuer details.
Can I avoid the formal 拝啓/敬具 greeting?
The garbage rule change and safety alert notice types already use a direct style without the formal greeting, matching how those notices are actually written in practice. Switch to one of those types if you want that tone.
